Platform Policy
EventSplit enforces a baseline protection standard on all reward tiers. Organizers can offer additional protection levels to build trust with collaborators. This page explains every level and your rights as a collaborator.
Every reward tier on EventSplit — regardless of what the organizer sets — includes a cancellation refund guarantee. If an organizer cancels an event for any non-force-majeure reason, all collaborator contributions collected through EventSplit are automatically refunded within 7 business days. Organizers cannot opt out of this.
Contribution supports the event. No refund.
Your contribution goes directly toward making the event happen. In return you receive the perks listed. If the event does not generate profit, no additional payout is made. Contributions are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled.
Perks are intended but not contractually guaranteed unless stated in a signed agreement. No financial return is promised.
Organizer commits to fulfilling all perks.
The organizer agrees to fulfil every perk listed in this tier, regardless of the event's financial outcome. If a perk cannot be delivered, the organizer must provide a comparable substitute or partial refund for the unfulfilled perk.
Perk fulfilment is required under the collaborator agreement. Disputes are handled through EventSplit's dispute resolution process.
Full refund if the organizer cancels.
If the organizer cancels the event for any reason other than documented force majeure (natural disaster, government restriction, venue closure), all contributions in this tier are automatically refunded through EventSplit within 7 business days.
This is the EventSplit platform standard. Refunds are processed automatically. Force majeure events are reviewed case-by-case.
Share of net profit after approved expenses. Minimum $0.
You receive a percentage of net profit calculated after all approved expenses and platform fees are deducted. The minimum payout is $0 — if the event does not generate profit, no revenue-share payment is made. If the organizer cancels the event, your contribution is refunded in full.
Revenue-share payouts are not guaranteed and depend on actual event performance, approved expenses, and the signed collaborator agreement. This is not a financial instrument or investment.
Agreed flat payment, independent of event profit.
You receive a fixed dollar amount as stated in the signed collaborator agreement, regardless of whether the event generates a profit. This amount is paid after the event completes and the final report is submitted. If the organizer cancels, your contribution is refunded.
Fixed payout amounts must be documented in a signed collaborator agreement. EventSplit facilitates payment but is not a party to the financial agreement between organizer and collaborator.
Effective 2025-01-01
If an event organizer cancels an event for any non-force-majeure reason, all collaborator tier contributions collected through EventSplit are automatically refunded within 7 business days. This applies to all tiers regardless of their stated protection level.
All contributions made through the EventSplit Reward Tiers system are covered. This includes upfront contributions and any amounts held in escrow pending event completion.
A refund is triggered when the organizer marks an event as cancelled through the EventSplit dashboard, or when EventSplit determines the event did not take place and the organizer has not rescheduled within 60 days.
Natural disasters, government-mandated closures, public health emergencies, and venue closures beyond the organizer's control are reviewed case-by-case. Organizers must submit documentation within 14 days. EventSplit may issue partial or full refunds at its discretion.
Refunds are initiated within 2 business days of the cancellation being confirmed and typically reach collaborators within 5–7 business days, depending on their bank.
If the event is cancelled, any pending revenue-share payouts and referral rewards are voided. Only the original contribution amount is refunded.
EventSplit does not refund its own platform fee (currently 3% of payout) in the event of cancellation, as this covers operational costs already incurred.

EventSplit is a platform that facilitates connections between event organizers and collaborators. We are not a party to any financial agreement between organizers and collaborators. Except for the platform-level cancellation refund, all other guarantees depend on the organizer honoring their commitments and the terms of any signed collaborator agreement.
