Trust Score Explained
How the Trust Score is calculated, what each badge level means, and practical steps to improve your score.
The Trust Score is a 0–100 transparency and reliability rating assigned to every organizer on EventSplit. It's designed to give collaborators and sponsors an objective basis for deciding who to work with.
Why It Matters
Organizers with higher Trust Scores attract better collaborators, more sponsor pitches, and appear higher in Marketplace recommendations. It's the single most valuable metric on EventSplit.
Score Breakdown
The Trust Score is made up of five categories, each worth up to 20 points:
- Event Completion (20 pts) — percentage of events completed vs. cancelled. Cancellations significantly reduce this score.
- Expense Transparency (20 pts) — percentage of expenses with receipts uploaded. Higher upload rates = higher score.
- Final Report Submission (20 pts) — percentage of completed events that had a Final Report filed. File reports promptly.
- Collaborator Satisfaction (20 pts) — average rating left by collaborators after events. Based on star reviews.
- Verification & Profile (10 pts) — account verification, complete profile, Stripe Connect setup, company information, website.
The final 10 points are split across Responsiveness (average response time to offers and messages) and other platform signals.
Badge Levels
- Elite Organizer (90–100) — Exceptional track record. Multiple completed events, near-perfect transparency, consistently top-rated.
- Trusted Organizer (75–89) — Strong history. Events completed reliably with good financial transparency.
- Established Organizer (60–74) — Developing a track record. Some events completed, transparency improving.
- New Organizer (50–59) — New to the platform. Score builds as the first events are completed.
- Developing Organizer (below 50) — Events cancelled or transparency issues flagged. Score needs attention.
How to Improve Your Score
- 1Complete events — never cancel unless unavoidable. Cancellations are the biggest score killers.
- 2Upload every receipt — aim for 100% receipt coverage on all expenses.
- 3Submit Final Reports promptly — within 2 weeks of the event's end date.
- 4Respond quickly to offers and messages — aim for under 24 hours.
- 5Complete your organizer profile — photo, bio, company name, website, and Stripe Connect.
- 6Request reviews from collaborators — positive reviews from collaborators drive the satisfaction score.
Privacy Controls
You can choose to hide your Trust Score from the public Marketplace. When hidden, your score is not shown on your organizer profile or event listings. Note: hiding your score can reduce trust signals for potential collaborators and sponsors, and will remove you from the Top Organizers leaderboard.
